How transportation sector is changing gears
The transportation sector is facing increasing competition as involved companies deploy technologies and upgrade them to improve the quality of their services. Technologies as wireless networks, artificial intelligence, and low-cost batteries are including new and innovative methods in the vehicles. Among all the segments, trucks and buses lead the technological advancements and bring investments from suppliers and manufacturers. The objective of the transformation is to offer the most cost-effective, flexible, and efficient services. Nowadays shipping companies are turning towards modern strategies and trends to compete in the market. Following are some of the developments the vehicle industry is going through:
Electric Bus: The majority of the city buses are diesel-driven, which add to a country’s CO2 emissions. Electric buses are also addressed local air pollution problems and create better air quality for people. Battery-driven electric buses are expensive than diesel equivalents. When battery costs drop the automakers start to make more electric buses at scale. According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s prediction, 80 percent of the world’s transit buses will be electric by 2040.

Autonomous Driving: An autonomous car can guide itself without human conduction. Shortages of drivers, high wages, and accidents during long-haul journeys have accelerated the development of autonomous drive in commercial vehicles. GPS technology helps these cars with navigation and to avoid collisions.
Drone-delivery: At present various companies have started investing in a drone delivery to increase the cost-effectiveness of their business. Drones deliver data, imagery, and ordnance. Delivering packages by a drone is one of the popular trends among the transportation market.
