Aitech Defense Systems Launches New Single Board Computer for Military and Defense Force in Rugged Environments
FREMONT, CA: Aitech Defense Systems, a supplier of rugged computing systems for avionics, defense, space and industrial application, introduces new rugged single board computer (SBC) that can withstand extremes of temperature, shock and vibration. Based on Intel 5th generation Core i7 processor, C874 has a secure boot and trusted platform module (TPM) option that provides a protected processing environment and versatile on-board I/O configuaration for flexible design implementations.
Aitech’s C874 is a high-performance 3U VPX SBC for embedded and harsh environment applications. Keeping in mind the extreme weather conditions in which military force has to work, the new rugged computer has been designed to withstand altitudes of over 70,000 ft. and operate in a temperature ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The integration of Intel’s HD 5600 Graphics into the processor with a Lynx Point QM87 I/O Platform Controller Hub (PCH) chipset provides maximum data throughput.
The C874 SBC can easily handle large volumes of data with its on-board memory of up to 16 GB of Double data rate synchronous dynamic random access memory (DDR3L SDRAM). With up to 544 GB of SATA Flash disk memory available in either single level cell (SLC), multi-level cell (MLC) or in combinations of both ensures sufficient space for on-board mass storage. The new SBC comes in a number of widely used OpenVPX slot profiles to ensure interoperability with systems utilizing the industry specification.
